Wanderson Chaves

 

He obtained his PhD in History at the University of São Paulo in 2012, the master’s degree in Social Sciences, and the bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, both at the University of Brasília. His research focuses on contemporary history, twentieth-century anti-racism on a global scale, and American foundations’ initiatives addressing racism. He is the author of The Black Question: Ford Foundation and the Cold War, published in Brazil in 2019, and co-author of the forthcoming book American Foundations and Social Sciences During the Cold War: The Shaping of the Black Question Agenda in Brazil. Currently, Wanderson is a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of History of the University of São Paulo.
