Laura de Oliveira

 

Professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), held in the area of ​​Contemporary History. Postdoctoral degree from the Center for Latin American Studies (CLALS) at American University, United States, with research at the Smithsonian Institution (2017/2018) and postdoctoral degree from the Postgraduate Program in Education at the University of São Paulo (USP) (2014/2016). PhD (2013) in History from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), with a degree at Georgetown University, United States. Winning doctoral thesis of the 4th. Manoel Salgado Thesis Award - ANPUH (2015) and honorable mention in the Capes Thesis Award (2014). Master (2009) in History from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). Master's thesis that won the Academic Expression Award - UFG (2011). Bachelor and degree in History from the Federal University of Goiás (2006). She has experience in the area of ​​History, with an emphasis on Contemporary History, working mainly on the following topics: ethics and human rights, Brazil-United States relations, Cold War and cultural war, diplomacy and propaganda. Leader of the History, Culture and Society Research Group (UFBA), together with professor Antonio Luigi Negro. Member of the Cold War Study Group (FFLCH/USP), coordinated by professor Elizabeth Cancelli. Currently, she holds the positions of coordinator of the collegiate of the evening History course at UFBA and coordinator of the interdisciplinary History and Sociology sub-project of the Teaching Initiation Program (PIBID/UFBA). She is the creator and also coordinates the extension project "Documentória", aimed at the production of historical documentaries.
